Also, THANKS TO THE SHERIFF& to his ENTIRE Staff for their service, dedication and professionalism to help make Carver County a safer place in which
to live, learn, work & play !!
Congratulations to Deputy Travis Larson! Deputy Larson was awarded as one of Minnesota's "2020 DWI All-Star Enforcers." In 2020, with many restrictions on bars and restaurants due to Covid-19, Deputy Larson was able to remove 29 impaired drivers from the roadways in the Waconia area.
"1 in 7 drivers in MN has a DUI on record and ½ of them re-offend. Alcohol-related fatalities had been on a downward trend, but has flattened out over the past 10 years, with 397 unnecessary alcohol-related traffic deaths in 2020. We know Travis is doing his part of bring those fatality numbers down."
I watched the extensive televised news coverage of the recent plane crash in Victoria and was highly impressed with the performance of the numerous Police, Fire, E.M.S. and other State and Federal Agencies who were involved. I can only attempt to imagine the great amount of meticulous coordination that was required of everyone involved in dealing with an incident of such magnitude and complexity.
The success of the efforts of everyone and every Agency involved speaks volumes about the caliber of leadership and coordination exhibited by you and the professional and dedicated members of your Department. You are aware of my personal Law Enforcement background and my unrelenting support of Public Safety Agencies, like yours, via my very popular Websites and weekly hour long Internet Shows that are heard around the world five times a week.
I offer you my very personal and sincere ‘CONGRATULATIONS’ for a ‘JOB WELL DONE’ to you, your staff and all of the ‘First Responders’, and others, involved !!
It is truly reassuring to know that a ‘coordinated force’ of professional and dedicated individuals, like those members of your Department, stand ready 24/7/365 to competently deal with, and resolve, any emergency in Carver County, or elsewhere, that may emerge.
Again, THANK YOU and my BEST WISHES to you and the dedicated professionals of the CARVER COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE.
BE SAFE !!
Sincerely,
Richard Odoms

Deputy Dascher Recently Received A
DELTA DICK EXCELLENCE AWARD
For His Service & Dedication
To The Residents Of
Carver County !!
We wanted to take this moment to recognize the outstanding work performance in 2021 by Deputy Steve Dascher (center; black vest). Deputy Dascher was nominated for Deputy Sheriff of the Year for the State of Minnesota. Although Deputy Dascher did not win this award, that does not diminish his outstanding accomplishments in 2021. Below are a few of the accomplishments this year by Deputy Dascher:
- Deputy Dascher conducted over 600 traffic stops. At a time when dangerous driving habits are increasing, as well as increased fatal crashes in our County, Deputy Dascher was dedicated to enforcing traffic laws and educating the public about the dangers of aggressive/dangerous driving habits.
- He worked with local businesses to find creative solutions for criminal activity. Deputy Dascher worked with one business by using a decoy item that was frequently stolen which contained a hidden GPS. Through Deputy Dascher's efforts, a repeat criminal offender was identified and charged.
- After one of our communities had numerous cars broken into overnight, Deputy Dascher was able to quickly ID suspects involved. Days later, Detectives executed a search warrant at the suspects address and arrested one suspect, recovered two stolen vehicles, a stolen handgun and other stolen property.
Deputy Dascher did many other things throughout the year to keep his community safe. Please join us in thanking Deputy Dascher for his outstanding service to the citizens of Carver County! For more information about Deputy Dascher, PLEASE CLICK HERE.

I saw the post on the Carver County Sheriff’s Department’s Facebook page regarding the ongoing outstanding performance by you and your fellow Sheriff’s Deputies. Law Enforcement has changed dramatically since ‘The Good Old Days’ when, as I remember them, ‘civility’ and overwhelming ’support of the Police’ was the rule rather than the exception.
For the past couple of years, Minnesota; like so many other cities and counties throughout the United States, have continued to see the unfair degradation of public support that our dedicated Police and Peace Officers deserve. Unfortunately, as we’ve all just witnessed in the Kim Potter matter, PUBLIC OFFICIALS knowingly, and intentionally, ‘manipulate the system’ for their own personal and political gain at the ‘expense’ of ‘unbiased justice’ and against honest Law Enforcement and its dedicated Officers like yourself and your fellow Deputies. If you’ve ever visited either of my Websites, you soon realized that I believe in holding PUBLIC OFFICIALS accountable for their actions; or ‘inactions’. In light of the current atmosphere, Law Enforcement, both active and retired, must now ‘band together’ with clear thinking, honest, hard working citizens to dispel and eradicate those unwarranted actions and criticism against Law Enforcement, by those PUBLIC OFFICIALS; and members of society involved, as well.

While there are literally millions of other citizens all throughout the United States (and the world) that, like me, truly appreciate the dedication, sacrifices and service that the Police, Deputies, Troopers, Rangers and other Law Enforcement Officers exhibit daily in pursuit of keeping all of us safe, too few take the time to publicly acknowledge those efforts and, sadly, simply take ‘Law Enforcement’ for granted without realizing the high caliber of dedicated, knowledgeable individuals it takes to keep us all safe and secure. I also believe in ‘recognizing’ people, such as yourself, for their service and accomplishments.
On my weekly Internet Show, as well as on my Facebook page, I actively support not only Law Enforcement, but Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel as well for their diligence and dedication. I was GREATLY IMPRESSED by the results yielded of a simple ‘Goggle search’ of you name. I am currently publicly ‘recognizing’ you on my Website and you will be soon be publicly recognized on my Facebook page as well as on an upcoming Internet Show in January.
Thank you, Deputy Dascher, for your diligence, dedication and service to the residents of Carver County; you are a credit to the Carver County Sheriff’s Office and represent Sheriff Kamerud in an exemplary manner.
Sincerely,
Richard Odoms

Meet three of the newest Carver County Sheriff' Detention Deputies! Each of these new hires are
just finishing up their FTO (field training) and
are on their own in the Detention Center.
They all came to Carver County with different backgrounds which is exciting for us to have
diverse life experiences. Deputy Glynn (left) came
to us from the womens prison in Shakopee, MN. Deputy Dols (center) moved East and left a jail in South Dakota to join our team. Deputy Enevold left his career with the TSA to join our jail team. His father worked for the Sheriff’s Office for many
years before retiring a few years ago.
These three had some fun while familiarizing themselves with our protective equipment cart
on Enevold’s last night of training.
